A classic Louis XV style French writing desk is known as a "bureau plat." This magnificent antique desk is gracefully curved on every side. Entirely handmade, exquisitely detailed inlaid marquetry incorporates rosewood, palisander, satinwood and mahogany.
The finish is impeccable with glowing patina, and there are only the tiniest mars and shrinkage lines to this splendid palatial furniture. Cast bronze mounts are original, drawers have hand cut dovetails.
Dating from about 1915, this desk conveys understated elegance from every angle. Dimensions are 4'8" long, 29" deep, 30" tall and legroom is 24" high underneath.
