French Antique Statue 1890 Sculpture of Schoolboys

Two animated schoolboys are vividly captured in this sculpture from France dating from about 1890.
The statue is spelter, a cast white metal alloy similar to pewter with an original rich bronze finish. One boy is playing with a top, his mate has a schoolbag under his arm and is gesturing. Wonderfully fine details are natural in this work of art.
We see very little wear and no damage to this charming statue. The ebonized base is wood, and dimensions are 9 1/2" diameter and 17" tall.
