French Morbier St. Gengoux Antique Farmhouse Clock

A traditional design morbier movement French farmhouse wall clock dates from about 1880. The hand-painted porcelain dial is signed by the maker "Moreau Boyard" of "St. Gengoux."
The 8 day movement has been cleaned and oiled, it keeps excellent time, striking the hour and the half with a bold bell, a winding crank is included.
The embossed brass dial surround depics the wheat harvest and dancing. There is slight wear to the dial, weights and pendulum bob are brass.
The modern village of St.-Gengoux-le-National has about 1000 inhabitants, and was known before the Revolution as St.-Gengoux-le-Royal. Located in Burgundy, southeast of Paris and just north of Lyons, the hamlet has a 12th Century Benedictine church of some note.
Size of this lovely antique is 10" wide, 6" deep and the clock case and pendulum are about 5 1/2' high.
