A remarkably well preserved rosewood gentleman's travelling case from the 1820's has six intact bottles, silver mounts and a miniature portrait of its owner.
The silk lining is worn on this marvelous antique from England. There are tiny hallmarks on the cup and tray, which are a bit dinged.
The genuine rosewood case has an inlaid pattern on the top, the finish is very fine but there are warps and losses, see photos. The original lock and key work. All six blown and cut bottles have fitted silver stoppers on safety chains.
Size of the enchanting case is 9 1/2" wide, 8 1/2" deep and 7" tall.
