Entirely original, this stellar Victorian tall bookcase is solid walnut with burl, and dates from about 1870. The arched doors have wavy glass, inside are wooden shelves on adjustable supports. The engraved rosy brasses are also original.
The base section is separate for easier handling, and lower drawers have hand-cut dovetails. The original finish has just enough mars and wear for a beautiful golden patina, and has been cleaned and polished. There are some shrinkage separations as would be expected in antique American furniture of this era.
Size is 5' wide, 19" deep and 8' 4 1/2" tall.
Item # C-B2101
