Carved of solid quarter sawn oak for a Chicago men's club about 1890, a lavishly scaled throne or hall hair was clearly intended for a potentate or grand poubah. The finish is excellent on a totally sturdy frame.
Newly upholstered and repadded, this imposing furniture is comfortable, as thrones go. Measurements of this American antique are 28" wide, 29" deep, 5 1/2' tall and the seat is 19" high.
