Victorian Antique Postmaster or Railroad Desk

Whether made for a postmaster, train station or hotel, this Victorian country slant top desk has a separate upper section with mailboxes and ledger files.

Solid walnut, the finish is excellent. Door panels are hand-chamfered, there are square hand-cut nailheads visible and the rough back is hand-planed. Drawers have been rebuilt long ago.

Substantial American antique furniture from about 1860, the spool turned legs are beautiful.

Measurements of this historic piece are 46" wide, 34" deep and 67 1/2" tall. The upward slant of the surface area begins at 30 1/2" from he floor.
