Hand-carved in the late Victorian or Eastlake period about 1870, this stately armoire or wardrobe is solid walnut. There is geometric fluting and delicate incised carving, characteristic of the period.
The satiny finish is excellent, drawers have hand-cut dovetails and original brasses. There are a few old repairs and edge mars on this one-piece antique. Note shrinkage separations due to age. The interior is empty and could be configured as desired with shelves or a closet pole, interior depth is over 17."
