This imposing late Victorian or Eastlake period bed has been adapted with steel rails to fit standard modern queen size bedding - otherwise it is entirely original. There is delicate incised or "spoon" carving characteristic of the time around 1890.
The original golden finish on solid oak and ash hardwood has great patina with lots of character - there are chips and wear especially to the top of the footboard, see photos.
Size of this American antique furniture is 7' 4" long, 4' 9" wide, the headboard is 7'1" tall and the footboard is 3' high.
