A genuine antique hanging kerosene lamp still has its cased ruby over opal glass dome shade from about 1895.
Never electrified, this historic lamp has a heavy counter-weight that hangs on 3 chains to raise or lower the lamp. All parts, including the smoke bell, appear original.
The spectacular shade is photographed illuminated with an electric bulb to show its deep ruby color.
We see no damage or missing parts on this Victorian lamp, and the iron filigree frame has been given a bronze finish.
The shade measures 12" in diameter, 8" tall, and the total fixture is 43" tall as shown.
