Victorian Pipe Smoking Stand or Jewel Box

Although this miniature cabinet would make a very nice jewelry chest, we think the caddies on the inside were created not for necklaces and chains but for smoking pipes.

Solid quarter sawn oak, this charming tiny furniture is all original: shaped and beveled glass panes, embossed brasses, working lock and a finish in very fine condition with warm antique patina and a little wear for character. Drawers have solid mahogany sides with tiny wooden pegs.

Hand-crafted in England about 1895, measurements of this delightful antique are 14 1/2" wide, 8" deep and 18" tall.
