This style of Italian made armchair was named after the fiery monk of Florence, famous for the "Bonfire of Vanities" in the early Renaissance. Hand carved of solid fruitwood about 1900, the original finish is very well preserved with new varnish.
The traditional ring is carved on one arm of this antique furniture from Italy. Originally a folding chair, screws now hold it securely in position. There are various restorations over the years.
Size is 27" wide, 22" deep and 37" tall. The seat height is 19".
