Crafted of solid mahogany about 1900 as a silverware chest, this elegant antique has been refitted for jewelry or a collector.
Signed "Eustis Bros., Minneapolis," the original finish has just enough mars for antique character and has been polished and waxed to a warm patina. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its glowing luster.
The upholstered lid and brass mounts are original. A removable plate glass shelf has been added, and the lower drawer was upholstered in suede cloth.
American made, the brass presentation plate was never engraved. Measurements are 25" wide, 18" deep and 8 1/2" tall.
