Signed "Salena a Chalon," a set of seven pewter measuring mugs date from around 1850.
Sizes go from a "Centilitre" to a full "Litre," and have numerous stamps from government weights and measures inspectors over the years.
Chalon is an ancient and picturesque town in Burgundy, mentioned as early as Caesar's Gallic Wars commentary. There are dings and wear to these picturesque antiques from France.
Size ranges from 4" diameter and 7" tall down to 1" diameter and 1 1/2" tall.
