Crafted of solid maple with a butcher block top about 1900, this country antique woodworker's workbench would serve as a picturesque antique kitchen island, counter or wine tasting table. Loads of character - mars, stains and dings - are preserved with an excellent durable finish on all four sides, making for wonderful rustic patina.
Ridiculously rugged construction includes two working vise clamps with wooden screws for carpentry projects or cracking walnuts, signed "C. Christensen, Chicago." There are peg holes in the top and a recessed tool area with a back splash with tool or knife holder. Three drawers have dovetailed joints, the top lifts off for easier moving.
Size of this charming American made primitive furniture is 37" tall, the top surface is 32" high, 48" wide plus the 7" vise for 55" total length, 22" wide plus the vise for 29" total.
