Hand crafted about 1830 in New England, this solid cherry secretary desk is made to use standing or with a stool. The finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture.
Spiral columns and hand carved fox heads for pulls are authentic. The drop front rests on pull out supports. Inside are tiny curly or "tiger" maple drawers and leather bound "book" files to hold bonds and deeds. The key is a handle only, the lock does not work.
Lower drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms. Square cut nails are visible on this historic desk.
Measurements are 39 1/2" wide, 47" tall and 22" deep, the desktop is 35" high.
