An oak secretary desk from about 1915 has an upper bookcase with hand leaded glass doors, expertly crafted in England.
The restored finish is in excellent condition, preserving just enough mars and dings for a little antique character. There are holes near the bookcase key from earlier hardware. Both keys are handles only, locks do not work on this traditional furniture. When the drop front is opened, wood supports extend automatically. Inside are small pigeon holes and tiny drawers for documents. There is some wear and a burn mark inside as well, see photos.
The bookcase is removable for easier transport. Drawers have dovetail joints and original solid brass pulls.
Measurements are 40" wide at the crown, 17" deep and 81 1/2" tall, the desktop is 30" high.
