An 1860's brass fireplace kettle or pot with wrought iron handle was traditionally used to simmer fresh fruit into jam. The stamped signature is from a famous brass mill, "Brown & Bros, Waterbury, Connecticut."
There are just enough dents, stains and dings for a little antique patina.
Size with the handle down is 15" across and 11" tall.
