Item# 29181
A late 1800's brass fireplace kettle, jam pot or apple butter cauldron with wrought iron handle was traditionally used to simmer fresh fruit into jam. The stamped signature reads "Randolph Clowes Co." of Waterbury, CT.
There are just enough dents, stains, rim cracks and dings for a little antique patina. Copper rivets and the hand wrought iron handle are original. Inside are two depth markers, "20" and "35" quarts??
Size with the handle down is 18" across and 12" tall.
