A splendid dining set in the Renaissance manner dates from the 1920's and is signed "Rockford of Rockford, Il." The table has six original leaves with skirts or aprons in a case plus six chairs, all newly upholstered. Carved of mahogany and walnut, the deep moldings and fine detailing are exceptional.
The restored deep finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture. There are minor shrinkage separations from age, see photos.
On the table's trestle base, a center leg gives extra support when extended. One leaf has a few scratches, see photos.
Measurements when closed are 48" wide, 31" tall, legroom is 26," length is 66," and with all three leaves in place length is 96" overall.
Comfortable chairs have been reglued to serve another generation. The armchair measures 27" wide, 27" deep, 46" tall and the seat is 19" high, five side chairs are 21" wide, 25" deep and 45" tall.
