A Victorian period mantel clock was carved of solid walnut with burl panels and wavy original glass and mirrors, signed "New Haven of Connecticut" on the original label.
The original finish is in remarkable condition, waxed and buffed. Two angel statues flank the hand painted glass door. There are significant paint losses on the dial, see photos. An elaborate adjustable brass pendulum is engraved, "Pat. March 1, 1881."
The 8 day brass movement keeps accurate time and counts the hour on a bell.
Measurements are 16" wide, 5 1/2' deep and 24 1/2" tall.
