Hand crafted in New England in the early 1800's, a Georgian period secretary desk is solid maple.
Drawers have chestnut sides with hand cut dovetail joints. The finish is excellent with warm patina. There are various restorations and shrinkage separations and warps from age, see photos. The drop front rests on pull out wooden supports. Brasses could well be original on this American made furniture. Top corners also have hand cut dovetail joints. The hand planed back is attached with square cut nails. Locks are operational.
Size is 38" wide, 20" deep, 41" tall and the desktop is 29 1/2" high.
