A narrow late Victorian or Eastlake period secretary desk from about 1880 has exceptional carved details with oak leaf, acorn and ivy motifs. The finish is in excellent condition on solid walnut with burl panels.
Upper doors have original beveled mirrors, the lock does not work. A key operates the lower locks and is the handle for the drawers on this sweet American made antique furniture.
Painted on the back is an inscription, "C. Bros, St. Paul, Mn." Drawers have dovetailed joints. The interior has mars and a little wear for antique character, see photos.
Measurements are 26" wide at the crown, 16" deep, 5' 11" tall and the desktop is 30" high.
