This Irish country pine pewter cupboard from about 1890 is similar to a Welsh dresser, a sideboard with upper display galleries. There is lots of antique character - stains, warps and losses - see photos.
The center top area is revarnished for durability, the balance of the silken finish has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
British antique furniture, there are various restorations over the years plus shrinkage separations from age. The separate upper display galleries have rails to display plates and bead board backs. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms. Old heavy brass hardware is not original, the right pull is slightly different.
Classic country house furniture, size is 74" wide, 19" deep, 7' 9" tall and the base is 38" high.
