Said to be from Connecticut, this country pine pantry jelly cupboard was expertly hand made by a skilled craftsman about 1840.
The top has been revanished for durability. The rest of the warm old finish is is very well preserved with glowing patina, waxed and buffed so all that is needed to maintain its luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Doors have reverse raised panels and wooden pegs. Square nails are visible, the back is finely paneled and pegged. Drawers have curved fronts with beautiful tiny hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms. The top is a single wide plank of pine.
Dimensions are 43" wide, 21" deep and 47 1/2" tall.
