A spectacular triple bookcase from about 1875 is solid maple with some curly or birdseye grain. The finish is in excellent condition on this East Coast American made antique furniture.
Finely detailed hand carving in the Gothic manner shows late Victorian or Eastlake and Aesthetic Movement influence. Three separate banks of bookshelves adjust on pegs, the top center triangular door opens downward. Lower drawers have hand cut dovetail joints, brass hardware is original, door locks have no keys. Doors have original 1/4 plate glass, very expensive at the time, so they are only slightly wavy.
Measurements are 85" wide, 16" deep and 77" tall.
