A magnificent French mantel clock from about 1820 has a bronze case with burnished genuine gold and an amazingly detailed sculpture of a courting couple.
The original unsigned brass movement keeps excellent time and runs for a week on a winding. A silvery bell counts the hour and strikes the half hour. Engraved Roman numerals are faint on the dial, which has minor discoloration, see photos. The original pendulum has an adjustable genuine silk suspension on this palatial European antique.
Measurements are 16" wide, 6" deep and 20" tall.
