A walnut and burl cylinder roll top secretary desk with bookcase dates from the late Victorian or Eastlake period in the 1880's.
The glowing restored finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture. Drawers have round "pin and cove" dovetail joints of the era, embossed brasses are original.
Doors have original wavy glass and shelves that adjust on wooden supports. The roll top has a matched burl panel and glides smoothly up and down. The locking door has a raised panel, there are small shrinkage separations from age, see photos. For easier moving, the bookcase section is removable.
Measurements are 41" wide at the crown, 23" deep, and 85" tall. The pull out writing surface extends to 18" deep and is 28" from the floor.
