About 30 years old, this solid mahogany desk is signed by famous maker, "KIttinger of Buffalo, NY."
This style of desk was called a "George Washington" desk after the original, now in the New York City Hall. Franklin Roosevelt also had one as president.
The gleaming restored finish is in excellent condition. Heavy brass pulls are original on this vintage furniture, there are letter or document shelves at the ends with dovetailed joints.
Drawers have solid oak dovetailed sides. Delicate legs are reeded and have brass feet on this sophisticated American made vintage library furniture. Sides and back have false drawers with pulls.
Size is 6' long, 3' deep, 36" tall, the writing surface is 30 1/2" high and the knee hole is 29" wide and over 24" high.
