A pair of Empire console tables from the 1820's have drop leaves and join to form a dining table as well. Solid mahogany is boldly grained and has an excellent restored finish.
Legs are deeply carved with a classical acanthus motifs, skirts are matched flame grain. Gatelegs swing on carved wooden hinges on this American made antique furniture. There are restorations around the hinges over the centuries, see photos.
Console tables measure 54" wide, 21" deep and 29 1/2" tall, with the dropleaves raised, they are 40" deep.
When connected with brass "forks," the dining table is 54" wide, 80" long and legroom is 24 1/2" underneath.
