This commemorative desk is designed after George Washington's famous desk in New York City Hall, and is signed by famous maker, "Kittinger of Buffalo, NY," for their 100th Anniversary in 1966.
Expertly crafted of mahogany, the removable letter holders have dovetailed corners. The restored finish is in excellent condition on this American made vintage furniture. Drawers have solid oak dovetailed sides, there is a smooth-gliding file drawer. Solid brass hardware is original, including feet and faux drawer pulls on the sides and back.
President Franklin Roosevelt also had a Kittinger desk like this in the White House.
Measurements are 63" long, 31" wide, 36 1/2" tall and the desktop is 31" high, the kneehole is 29" wide and 25" high.
