A solid cherry tall chest or dresser dates from about 1790, and has been extensively restored over the centuries.
The original hand hewn back shows square cut nails, and is painted "Charles Hutchinson, Prescott, Wisconsin," presumably the destination for this New England made antique furniture. Some drawers have been completely rebuilt, two drawers were joined together, see photos. There are numerous later nails and repairs as shown, plus losses at the edges. The finish is in very fine condition, preserving all this antique character.
Measurements are 38 1/2" wide, 20" deep and 44 1/2" tall.
