A late Victorian or Eastlake period solid oak cylinder roll top secretary desk dates from about 1890.
The restored deep finish is in excellent condition. Incised carving and fluted moldings are characteristic of the era on this American made antique library furniture. The roll glides smoothly, revealing a tiny drawer and cubicles for papers. The pull out writing surface has new natural saddle leather. Later bookshelves are adjustable.
Measurements are 49" wide, 22" deep, 43" tall and the desk top is 29" high.
