A Georgian period grandfather or long case clock from England has an oak case and hand painted dial from about 1825, inside is a modern quartz battery silent movement, so the second hand and calendar do not operate. The dial has original worn hand paint, and there are traces of a signature that cannot be read even with an ultraviolet light.
The renewed finish is in excellent condition on fine grained oak with inlaid marquetry medallions and mahogany columns. There are minor mars and losses, see photos. Brass mounts are intricately embossed on this antique furniture. The door has old wavy glass, the lower door has a working lock.
Measurements are 23" wide, 9" deep and 95" tall.
