A solid pine grandfather or long case clock from about 1840 has a new quartz battery silent movement.
The original hand grain painted finish has charming crackling from age, preserved with clear varnish. There are minor mars and shrinkage separations from age, see photos. The hand painted and enameled wooden dial is original with some wear for a little antique character. Only the hour and minute hands operate.
Brass balls and eagle finial are patinated. This is American made furniture, said to be from Massachusetts. The rough sawn back is attached with cut square nails.
Measurements are 19" wide, 10" deep and 85" tall overall.
