A sculpture of "La Nuit," or Night, from about 1900 is signed on the base and the brass plate, "Kossowski," and was made in France.
There is a crescent moon and clouds under the barefoot young lady's feet, as she dances with her hair flowing free. Famous Polish sculptor, Henryk Kossowski lived 1855-1921 and worked in France.
The original green and chocolate patina has just enough charming wear for a little antique patina. This statue is cast of "spelter" alloy metal, and has minor stress cracks as shown. The base is wood with an original red marble grain painting.
Size is 7" diameter at the base, 8" across and 26" tall.
