Crafted about 1900, this cabinet signed "O'Hara Bros." is something of a mystery with the lower adjustable tray drawers, perhaps used for restaurant linens or a collector's prints or manuscripts. The upper cabinet has hand leaded wavy glass panes and adjustable shelves.
We know nothing of "O'Hara Bros," their Minneapolis address on the brass plate, "317 2nd Ave South," was torn down years ago.
The renewed finish is in excellent condition on solid quarter sawn oak, preserving just enough stains and mars for a little antique character. There are shrinkage separations from age, see photos. Raised panels and detailed carving show expert workmanship.
Sliding trays have flat black center panels, and can be adjusted as they slide into tracks on the sides. For easier delivery, the upper section is removable.
Measurements are 44" wide, 22" deep and 76" tall.
