This charming jelly cupboard was hand made about 1860 of solid golden butternut, and has square nails and hand dovetailed drawers.
Used to store a year's worth of jellies and jams from the fall harvest, there is a keyhole showing where the original lock was in the door. It is now lost, probably from being jimmied by a hungry child.
Expertly crafted by a skilled country carpenter, this is nostalgic rustic kitchen furniture from a bygone era.
The finish is very fine with warm antique patina and lots of character - mars, stains and wear. Measurements are 44" wide, 16" deep and 51" tall.
