An elegant antique French Louis XV design rosewood armoire has shaped and beveled mirror doors, it dates from about 1890. The original finish is excellent with warm patina. Exquisite diamond matched panels are outstanding.
The wonderful Roccoco carving is truly amazing and shows stunning artistry. Expert hand carving is in high relief, panels are diagonally matched.
Rosewood has a sublime delicate grain and color, is extremely hard, and has a silken original finish with warm antique patina. The interior is oak and birdseye maple with adjustable shelves. Drawers have hand cut dovetails and working locks.
Shaped and beveled mirrors have a little "smoke" for character, the door lock is sticky but works. Doors have lift off hinges, and this armoire disassembles for moving. Minor mars at the edges and shrinkage are as expected with age.
Graceful curves show superior craftsmanship and quality. Measurements of this exquisite antique furniture from France are 56" wide, 24" deep and 102" tall.
Matching pieces in photos are priced and sold separately, call or email for availability.
