Hand crafted in New England about 1790 during the Georgian period, this is a wonderful hand made maple highboy or tall chest.
The glowing finish is in excellent condition and has warm antique patina with a few mars for character. Photos show shrinkage separations from age.
Hand planing marks are charming. Front stiles between drawers are dovetailed into the solid sides. There have been numerous repairs and restorations over the years. All drawers fit well and glide smoothly. Brasses are old but not original on the graduated drawers with hand cut dovetail joints.
Serene and historic American made furniture, size is 42" wide, 20" deep and 54" tall.
