Original created in the 1840's as a "melodeon" or early pump organ, this antique was later converted to a writing or "spinet" desk.
Beautiful genuine rosewood has an old finish in very good condition. Closed in the console table position, the top flips open to reveal tiny drawers and cubicles for notes and papers. The drawer below has hand cut dovetails, so the conversion was probably well over 100 years ago.
American made furniture, dimensions are 46" wide, 23" deep and 32" tall. The writing surface area is 26 1/2" from the floor.
