A charming jelly cupboard or server from about 1840 has its original well worn hand painted and pinstriped finish, nicely worn and protected with a coat of clear varnish. The finish has wonderful antique rustic character - mars and losses as shown.
Hand crafted of pine and maple, hand dovetailed drawer sides have been restored to glide smoothly for another hundred years. Original knobs were attached with wooden screw dowels. Doors have hand chamfered panels plus original porcelain and iron latches.
This cozy country or "cottage" furniture is American made, and said to be from Pennsylvania. Rugged shelves inside could hold precious jams and jellies from the fall harvest. Size is 47" wide, 21" deep and 54" tall, the top surface is 46" high.
