A stately set of twelve large, strong and comfortable dining chairs were hand carved of solid mahogany about 1880 in England.
This historic set has traditional ball and claw feet in the Georgian manner. Matched flame grain panels are beautifully figured on the curved backs, the satiny finish is in excellent condition. Large seats are newly upholstered on this antique furniture.
This set was purchased at Chicago's Marshall Field and Co. antiques department in the 1980's for $14,000. Two armchairs measure 30" wide, 24" deep, 39" tall and seats are 19" high, ten side chairs are 22" wide.
