Dated "1891," this hand carved solid curly or "birdseye" maple hall bench and stand is one of a kind. The old glowing finish is probably original, it is very well preserved with warm antique patina and lots of stains, mars and shrinkage separations for character.
Waxed and buffed, all that is needed to maintain its warm luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Solid brass coat and hat hooks, drawer pull and the well used umbrella drip pan are all original. A beveled mirror has a hint of "smoke" to show its age as well. The "sunburst" motif is dramatic on this American made furniture.
Measurements are 42" wide, 17" deep, 7' 1" tall and the seat is 15" high.
