This Arts and Crafts period carved writing desk or library table dates from about 1900, and is solid quarter sawn oak.
The top has been revarnished for durability, the base retains its original finish that is very well preserved. Waxed and buffed, all that is needed to maintain its warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Both sides have bookshelves, the center drawer is dovetailed. The patinated escutcheon is original, the knob is later on this American made antique furniture.
Measurements are 32" wide, 20" deep, 30" tall and the kneehole is 17" wide and 23" tall.
