This 1910 era armoire or bookcase was hand carved in France of genuine rosewood and has a secret drawer in the base. The original finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and polished, so all that is needed to maintain its warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
A hand carved Rococo crest with shell and rose motifs is exquisite. There are various warps and shrinkage separations from age, see photos. The door also has a slight warp as shown. A key operates both locks on this European furniture.
Shaped and beveled, the door mirror is original. The interior is oak and curly or birdseye maple. Original shelves adjust on wooden supports, this antique can be disassembled for moving.
Dimensions are 42" wide, 19" deep and 8' tall.
