Hand crafted in Pennsylvania about 1850, this solid cherry armoire, wardrobe or closet has a beautiful finish with warm patina.
Panels are chamfered, joints are secured with carved wooden pegs and square cut nails are visible. There are warps, splits and mars over the years for antique character plus various restorations, see photos.
The interior is empty and 17" deep, so it could be fitted with a closet pole or shelves as desired. Doors have working locks on this American made historic furniture.
Wide planks of solid cherry include streaks of golden "sapwood" at the edges. The back is hand hewn pine. A carpenter would be required to disassemble this cabinet, it would be better to keep it together for delivery.
Measurements are 78" wide at the sculpted crown, 72" wide in the body, 78" tall and 22" deep.
