A magnificent English Georgian design breakfront bookcase or china cabinet from the 1890's is equally at home in a library or dining room. Matched mahogany is inlaid with artistic marquetry of satinwood, burl, ebony and other exotic species.
The satiny glowing finish is in excellent condition, there are minor mars at the edges for a little antique character. Individual wavy glass panes are set in traditional grill work. Drawers have solid mahogany sides with beautiful tiny hand cut dovetail joints. Doors have working locks. Center shelves adjust by sliding into grooves, outer shelves adjust with wooden supports.
The separate upper section has a well proportioned carved and pierced pediment.
Measurements are 7' 11" wide at the crown, 25" deep, 8' tall to the tip of the flame shaped finial and the base cabinet is 36" high.
