From the late Victorian or Eastlake period about 1880, a solid walnut bookcase has adjustable shelves. Inside is a painted inscription, "Leo ???, St. Paul."
The finish is in excellent condition, enhancing genuine burl panels and preserving stains and mars for character, see photos. The door lock and key work and the drawer has dovetailed joints and was rather crudely rebuilt on this American made antique furniture.
Measurements are 39" wide, 15" deep and 64" tall, shelves are 9" deep.
