A console table that flips open to form a game table dates from the Hepplewhite or Federal period in the early 1800's. Figured mahogany is inlaid with delicate banding on this American made antique East Coast furniture.
There are numerous restorations over the centuries, see photos. Two back "gate legs" swing out on carved wooden hinges when the console is opened to a square game table. The satiny finish is in excellent condition.
Measurements are 36" wide, 18" deep, 30 1/2" tall when closed, open size is 36" square.
